For a fresh, new look African Sun is refurbishing its hotels.
Victoria Falls Area GM, Adrian Landry said African Sun, under its partnership with South Africa’s Legacy Group, had begun refurbishments at Elephant Hills, with the exterior having been repainted and the thatching re-done.
“Work is also being done on the gardens, as well as repairs and maintenance of the whole hotel. We have also employed a new Group chef who is French Mauritian, who has made significant impact on presentation and menus,” said Landry.
According to African Sun, Elephant Hills Hotel has been receiving inquiries on its conferencing facilities and therefore the group took the decision to construct a temporary conference facility with capacity for 1 000 people seated. Landry said this development would assist in making Elephant Hills a hub for conferencing in the region, adding that the facility would be fully air-conditioned and have all the necessary amenities.
The Kingdom Hotel is also undergoing renovation. “We have closed the casino at the Kingdom Hotel and it is being converted into a conferencing facility. We are expecting business to start improving from June right through to October , with a lot of bookings during that time,” Landry said, adding that more developments at the hotel will take place.
