Lupa Osteria recently launched its #LupaNights property at an event hosted at the brand’s Design Quarter branch with notable personalities in the world of food, media and entertainment in attendance.
The concept of #LupaNights was inspired by a need to communicate the rich Italian heritage of the brand to the public in the most spectacular way. The theme for the evening was your ‘Rome away from home’ and the venue was decorated befitting of a great Italian dinner. Host and vibrant TV personality Roxy Burger took the guests through the brand’s history and evening’s activities with Italian flair, while George Sax kept guests entertained with his warm and soothing Italian melodies on no other than, you guessed it … the saxophone. Guests at the event included TV personality Lalla Hirayama, actress Jay Anstey, DJ Doowap, as well as foodies Chef Nti and Olwethu Leshabane (and others).
Founded by Guy Cluver and Chris Black, Lupa first opened its doors in 2013 in KwaZulu-Natal with the aim of establishing a big, bold Italian restaurant that served authentic food in a warm and friendly environment. It wasn’t long until Famous Brands took notice and entered into partnership with the duo in 2016 to expand the unique Lupa Osteria concept outside of KZN, with the first Gauteng store opening at the Design Quarter (Fourways, Johannesburg) in 2016.
“We are so proud to be associated with this incredible brand that has grown from strength to strength over the years with a total of four Lupa Osteria stores open across the country. We hope the concept on Lupa Nights will become a staple at our restaurants and really educate consumers and encourage them to experience their ‘Rome away from home’ within our stores,” said brand manager, Michelle Smith.
