Premier Hotels & Resorts’ Mpongo Private Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape is undergoing an R18 million (€1m) refurbishment.

“We are thrilled to soon be unveiling our new offerings and further enhancing the guest experience within our private game reserve,” said Samuel Nassimov, managing director of Premier Hotels & Resorts.

Two dormitories able to accommodate 32 guests, and two lodges are being built. The five-star lodge will have six rooms with views of the reserve and the four-star lodge will have 25 rooms to accommodate conference delegates, wedding attendees and team-building groups.

The Huberta Restaurant and Edu-Centre will be expanded and remodelled with a wildlife theme, while encompassing conservation principles. Additional administration offices are also being constructed. The renovations will be carried out in a phased manner to prevent any impact on guests.

Adventures In The Eastern Cape

The selection of adventures include the world’s biggest waves, the only snow slopes on the continent, and the highest bungee-jump in the southern hemisphere. The highlights of the Eastern Cape are without doubt the Addo Elephant Park, the Grahamstown National Arts Festival and the surfing capital of Jeffreys Bay. But don’t forget the hidden treasures of Cape St Francis, Kaaiman’s River Bridge, the Owl House and the Apple Express.
