A new lodge has been unveiled in Kenya’s Mount Kenya tourism circuit.
The 30-roomed Giraffe Ark Game Lodge in Nyeri is sandwiched between Africa’s second tallest mountain, Mount Kenya to the north, and Aberdare Ranges to the south. The lodge offer guests six deluxe rooms, five luxury rooms, 18 executive suites and one royal suite, as well as a restaurant, bar and a swimming pool. Activities include game drives at the nearby Aberdare National Park or Mount Kenya National Park, horseback riding, hiking and cycling. The lodge has a conference facility with 24-hour back-up power and free Wi-Fi.
Giraffe Ark Game Lodge Chairman, Peter Mahu said guests could enjoy panoramic views of the snow-capped Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Ranges. Mahu says 14 additional rooms are being constructed.
Kenyan Tourism Minister, Najib Balala, urged investors to build new hotels in tourism circuits which lack quality accommodation. Balala added that he would support counties that identify new products to open up untapped tourism potential areas. He said: “We are keen on developing new products to avoid depending too much on beach and safari.”
