Johannesburg and Pretoria residents need not drive too far in search of a little revitalisation. Camdeboo Day Spa welcomes the weary, day guests and travellers alike.
When the budget restricts your plans to head for a weekend away from the city, consider making the short drive to Camdeboo Day Spa, securely located on the premises of African Pride Irene Country Lodge. Aptly named for its lush surroundings, Camdeboo (from ‘Qamdobowa’ in Xhosa meaning ‘green hollow’) offers a tranquil venue for a day outing, birthday parties or baby showers, or can form part of your itinerary when you stay as a guest at the hotel.
The short getaway
After a long week at work chasing deadlines, it was time to head out and see how an overnight stay at African Pride Irene Country Lodge would shape the weekend. All we had in mind from the get-go was relaxation, so after a friendly exchange with the staff at reception and checking in, we slowly made our way to the spa for a pampering session.
We were welcomed with a signature cocktail followed by a light and deliciously healthy meal. From the chicken salad to the tuna salad to the toasted chicken, everyone echoed what a superb job the chef had done. When our names were called, we changed into our gowns and got ready for what would become the best back massage I’ve ever had! The scenery, the gentle music, the company and the food created an ambience that is sure to inspire any newcomer to return, only for a little longer next time!
